Indexing & Archiving Strategy
The journal will pursue inclusion in major indexes and ensure long-term preservation:
- Indexing Plans: We aim to register the journal in DOAJ (as an OA journal), Scopus, and relevant subject databases. The website will list indexing and abstracting services where the journal is covered. This transparency reassures authors and readers of visibility.
- Digital Preservation: To safeguard content, CELT Journal will archive its content in multiple trusted repositories. At minimum, we will deposit with CLOCKSS and/or Portico. Additionally, we will register in the ISSN Keepers Registry and leverage DOAJ’s JASPER service: either enable PKP’s Preservation Network (for OJS platform journals) or arrange CLOCKSS ingest through DOAJ. Automatic web-crawling by Internet Archive will also be arranged as a third backup. Archiving in three places (e.g. Portico, CLOCKSS, IA) will ensure content survives any single failure. These steps comply with DOAJ seal and Plan S requirements for long-term preservation.
- ISSN Registration: The journal has both print (p-ISSN) and electronic (e-ISSN) numbers as registered with ISSN.org. These will be prominently displayed on the website and each article.
In summary, the Preservation Policy page will state that the journal uses persistent identifiers (DOIs) and engages with recognized preservation services to guarantee perpetual access, per COPE/DOAJ standards.
