Editorial Board Composition: CJMS maintains an internationally diverse editorial board of experienced scientists and clinicians. Members are selected for their expertise and reputation in medical research. Each editor’s name, institution, and role are listed on the website, as required for transparency. This diversity ensures a broad representation of specialties and regions. An Editor‐in‐Chief (with relevant expertise and academic qualifications) leads the board and oversees all editorial decisions.
Editorial Oversight and Responsibilities: Our editors are bound by COPE’s Code of Conduct and Best Practices. They make decisions solely on scholarly merit (originality, validity, relevance), without influence from authors’ nationality, affiliation or other personal factors. Editors recuse themselves from manuscripts where they have conflicts of interest and may delegate to associate editors if needed. They ensure fair, unbiased peer review, assigning manuscripts to reviewers with appropriate expertise. Confidentiality is paramount: unpublished manuscripts and related correspondence are shared only with involved editors/reviewers and are not used for personal purposes.
- Editors follow COPE guidelines when handling ethical issues (e.g. plagiarism, falsification, duplicate publication). Upon suspicion of misconduct, they will investigate according to COPE flowcharts, and issue corrections or retractions if necessary.
- Editors provide transparent communication to authors about decisions and appeals. If an author appeals a decision (with new evidence), the Editor-in-Chief conducts a fair re-evaluation.
- The editorial office tracks all decisions and timelines to ensure efficiency. Our goal is to keep the publication process timely, typically with an initial decision or review assignment within a few days and peer review completed within 4–6 weeks.
Publisher and Ethical Alignment: CJMS adheres to the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing (endorsed by COPE, DOAJ, OASPA). We are committed to open access with a Creative Commons (CC BY) license, giving readers free and immediate access to all content. All relevant journal policies (aims & scope, ethics, peer review process, licensing, fees, contact info) are prominently available on our website.CJMS displays its ISSN on the homepage and maintains compliance with industry standards for indexers: formal peer review, English abstracts, and publicly available ethics/malpractice statements.
