CJMS recognizes that generative AI (GenAI) tools (e.g. ChatGPT) are increasingly used in writing and research. We require full disclosure of any use of AI in manuscript preparation or review. Authors must declare in the manuscript (e.g. in the acknowledgments or methods) whether and how they used AI to generate text, summarize content, analyze data, or create images. AI tools cannot be listed as authors; only human contributors can be authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the content, including material produced or altered by AI. If AI was used to draft any portion, authors should ensure the output is factually correct and properly cited. Similarly, reviewers and editors should report any use of AI in their assessment. This policy follows Scopus’s recommendation that journals have a dedicated AI use policy and require transparency. Failure to disclose significant AI use will be treated as an ethical breach.
